J. Cole cancels Sacramento concert following crew member's death in crash

Rapper J. Cole canceled his Sacramento concert on Thursday night after a member of his touring crew died in a crash in Yolo County, California. The incident occurred shortly after 6:05 a.m. when the touring truck, which was transporting equipment for the show at the Golden 1 Center, crashed and overturned on southbound I-5 between the Zamora and Dufour areas, blocking all lanes just south of County Road 95. The Golden 1 Center confirmed that the deceased was a crew member of J. Cole's team and announced the cancellation of the concert. A statement from the venue expressed condolences, stating, "Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time." Ticketmaster will issue automatic refunds to buyers, while those who purchased tickets from other sources must seek refunds from their original point of purchase. The concert was set to take place at the downtown Sacramento arena, home to the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. J. Cole has received over 11 major awards from more than 120 nominations, including two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song in 2020 and Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2024.
