Packers running back Josh Jacobs charged with misdemeanors following altercation

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been charged with two misdemeanors after an alleged incident involving his girlfriend. The altercation reportedly occurred on May 23 at Jacobs' home in Brown County, Wisconsin, after the woman accused him of communicating with other women, according to a court filing obtained by the California Post. The filing states that the woman threw Jacobs' phone, prompting him to take her phone and a physical struggle ensued. Jacobs left the residence with the woman's phone, and she followed him in a separate vehicle. They returned to Jacobs' home, where the dispute continued. According to the filing, Jacobs was pacing in the bedroom when the woman retrieved her second phone from a duffle bag. Jacobs allegedly called her a derogatory name and threatened her. As she attempted to leave, Jacobs reportedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground, causing her to hit her head and sustain an injury. Jacobs is facing one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property. Brown County District Attorney David L. Lasee confirmed that the office filed a criminal complaint against Jacobs, emphasizing that a complaint is not an indication of guilt. Jacobs was initially arrested on May 26, but charges were not filed at that time as prosecutors sought additional evidence. Jacobs' attorneys stated that the allegations will be addressed in court. Jacobs has continued to participate in Packers practice, with head coach Matt LaFleur noting that the team atmosphere remained normal. The NFL is monitoring the situation, which is still under review.
