Police Execute Search Warrant at Home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's Son

Police in Minneapolis executed a search warrant at the apartment of Adnan Omar, the son of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, on Tuesday night. Law enforcement sources reported that firearms and ammunition were seized during the raid, and Adnan's roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, 22, was arrested. Earlier that day, the Minneapolis Police Department stated that Abdi was cited during a traffic stop for no proof of insurance and no license. The police indicated that a firearm was discovered inside the vehicle, which was in the process of being impounded. Officers later located Abdi at an address on Marquette Ave and arrested him without incident. He was booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge and released the following night. Court records indicate that Abdi has a history of ten convictions, primarily misdemeanors, including a felony conviction for speeding at 108 miles per hour in St. Paul. He has also faced charges for driving with a revoked license and failing to show proof of insurance. In a previous incident, Omar mentioned that her son was stopped by federal immigration agents who questioned his citizenship but was released after presenting his U.S. passport.
