Darline Graham Wins Runoff Election in South Carolina Following Trump Endorsement

<p>Darline Graham won the runoff election in South Carolina to become the GOP nominee for the Senate seat previously held by her brother, the late Lindsey Graham. The election took place following Lindsey Graham's death in July.</p><p>Graham defeated Rep. Ralph Norman in a closely watched race. Despite limited political experience, she received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, which was seen as influential in her victory.</p><p>Trump endorsed Graham during a rally in Myrtle Beach, stating, "Darline is somebody I've known for a long time. I asked her to do this. I said, ‘Darline, you got to do it,’ because everyone loves her. Everyone respects her." He emphasized that her brother respected her greatly.</p><p>In addition to the endorsement, Trump’s political organization contributed over $800,000 to support her campaign, particularly after she faced criticism for her knowledge of foreign policy during a debate.</p><p>Graham has positioned herself as a candidate focused on domestic issues and aligned with Trump's political agenda. She criticized Norman for his stance against House Republican leadership and emphasized her legislative accomplishments, claiming to have achieved more in her brief time in the Senate than Norman had in his entire congressional career.</p><p>Following the election, Norman expressed his support for Graham, stating he would back her as the Republican nominee.</p>
