Sean Spicer Predicts Close Republican Primary Race in South Carolina

Spicer made this prediction on <a href="https://x.com/theDChuddle/status/2092231812453892118" rel="" target="_blank" title="https://x.com/theDChuddle/status/2092231812453892118?">The Huddle</a>, stating that Norman is likely to come out ahead in the race.</p><p>Graham, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is running for a full term after being appointed to replace her brother following his death in July. Polls indicate a close race, with a Trafalgar poll showing both candidates nearly tied at just under 48 percent.</p><p>Spicer noted that it is concerning for Graham that she has not surpassed 50 percent in polling, despite significant campaign efforts, including nearly a million dollars spent on voter outreach. He highlighted that South Carolina Senator Tim Scott appeared on Fox News to support Graham, and Trump held a rally for her last week.</p><p>Spicer stated, "They’ve thrown everything at it. I will say, I think Ralph Norman’s going to come out ahead tonight." He also mentioned some challenges Graham faced during her campaign, including a debate where she admitted to being uninformed on national security issues.</p><p>During the debate, Graham stated, "I’m just going to be honest here... I’m not that informed on national security," which drew criticism. Additionally, Graham had an uncomfortable interaction with a voter who recorded their conversation at a campaign event, expressing her discomfort with being recorded without permission.</p><p>On the eve of the primary, Graham avoided directly addressing whether she agreed with Trump regarding the legitimacy of the 2020 election, instead stating, "I think our election system is broken."
