Fred Warner Comments on Jed York's Arrest Amid Prostitution Scandal

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner addressed the recent arrest of team owner Jed York, who was reportedly arrested for attempting to pay a woman $160 for sex at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio. Warner stated, "I mean, we’re all aware, right? I think we all have social media, so we see things. But at the same time, you know, I got a lot of love, a lot of respect for Jed, and don’t feel the need to comment on the situation," according to Evan Webeck of the California Post. He added that the team is focused on preparing for the upcoming season, noting, "It really wasn’t a conversation being had in the locker room. Of course, yeah, you notice it, but at the same time, we’re still hyper focused in this building of trying to prepare for Week 1." Warner emphasized the importance of team dynamics, stating, "You know, a lot of guys are on the bubble trying to make the team, so you know we’re just trying to get better as a football team and letting that you know that’s a personal situation, letting it stay personal with him." Despite Warner's comments, there is speculation that York's arrest and its implications may still be a topic of discussion among the 49ers' roster. Warner is also looking to reestablish himself as a leading linebacker after missing the final 12 games of the 2025 season due to an ankle injury.
