GOP Candidate Scott Singer Prepares for Competitive Race Against Democrat Jared Moskowitz in Florida's 25th District

<p>Representative Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat from Florida, is facing challenges in the race for the newly redrawn 25th Congressional District in South Florida, where Republican nominee Scott Singer aims to secure a House seat in a closely divided Congress.</p><p>"We're going to be very prepared to go flip this seat – it is a key targeted seat," Singer stated in an interview with Fox News Digital on Monday.</p><p>He emphasized that this district could play a significant role in determining the balance of power in the House.</p><p>The race is attracting national attention and potentially significant financial support from Democrats as they seek to maintain their majority, as noted by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.</p><p>"A lot of people in this district and beyond understand what's at stake here," Singer, a former mayor of Boca Raton, remarked.</p><p>Moskowitz, currently representing the more Democratic-friendly 23rd District, shares a Jewish and pro-Israel background with Singer but must navigate a more Republican-leaning electoral map while countering factions within the Democratic Party, according to Singer.</p><p>"His voting record speaks volumes," Singer said, criticizing Moskowitz for aligning with Democratic positions. "This is not the sort of record of bipartisanship he once had. He's been much more partisan because he has to be."</p><p>In response, Moskowitz highlighted his ability to fend off challenges from the Democratic Socialists of America in his primary and mentioned having $2 million in cash reserves for the general election.</p><p>"I go after my party all the time and fight within," Moskowitz stated, referencing his bipartisan efforts and suggesting that Singer has not been vocal enough on certain issues.</p><p>The race is classified as one of 19 toss-ups nationally, with the Cook Political Report indicating it includes seats held by four Democrats and 15 Republicans.</p><p>"It's now about five points more Republican than Democrat, but even since redistricting, there are Republicans who are registering at a higher rate," Singer noted, attributing this trend to the perceived successes of Florida's governance.</p><p>He expressed optimism about attracting disaffected Democrats, particularly those who have concerns about the Democratic Party's direction.</p><p>Both candidates are Jewish, competing in a district with a significant Jewish electorate, which Singer believes could influence the outcome due to perceptions of the Democratic Party's stance on Israel.</p><p>"The anti-Israel wing, which has taken root in the Democratic Party, is doing the convincing for us," Singer asserted, citing recent electoral trends among Democrats regarding Israel.</p><p>He added that the district's shifting demographics and political landscape present a favorable opportunity for Republicans.</p><p>"I have deep ties in this district. It's my whole life. I've lived 40-plus years in this District in all three counties," Singer said, contrasting his local connections with Moskowitz's residency.</p><p>Recent electoral data suggests that the district has become more favorable to Republican candidates, with Trump having carried the area by approximately nine points in 2024.</p><p>"Independent voters have a choice," Singer concluded, framing the election as a decision between continued conservative policies and a return to Democratic proposals.</p>
