Green has a history of pursuing impeachment against Trump, having introduced articles on multiple occasions during his tenure in the House. Notably, he filed articles after Trump dismissed FBI Director James Comey and again in July 2019 following Trump's comments about four Democratic congresswomen of color. In May 2025, Green introduced articles accusing Trump of defying the judicial branch, and in June of the same year, the House voted 344-79 to block Green's effort to initiate an impeachment inquiry.
