Charter plane crashes in Alaska, resulting in eight fatalities

A charter aircraft crashed at a remote radar site in western Alaska on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of all eight individuals onboard, including two pilots and six passengers. The incident occurred during the aircraft's second approach to the runway in heavy fog, leading to a loss of contact, according to Clint Johnson, the National Transportation Safety Board’s Alaska region chief. The pilots were relying solely on instruments as visibility was insufficient to see the gravel airstrip when the crash occurred around midday.
