Vice President J.D. Vance hosted a fundraiser on Wednesday evening in Southampton, New York, which raised more than $5 million. The event attracted approximately 35 young Republican donors, providing insight into the financial network Vance is building in anticipation of a potential presidential run in 2028.
The fundraiser was held at the residence of Omeed Malik, President of 1789 Capital. Notable attendees included Donald Trump Jr., Shayne Coplan, Garrett Ventry, Brandon Lutnick, and Zach Witkoff. Chris Buskirk, a supporter of Vance and president of the Rockbridge Network, co-hosted the event.
During the reception, attendees contributed $100,000 to the Republican National Committee, while those at a subsequent intimate dinner donated $250,000. Vance serves as the finance chair for the RNC, a role that has facilitated connections with the party's major donors. He has organized numerous fundraising events since assuming the position last year. Vance is expected to announce his decision regarding a 2028 presidential run after the midterm elections on November 3.
